UPDATE: Propane Leak Responsible For Naugatuck High School Evacuation
There was a smell of natural gas in the building, and students are being sent home for the day.

Update 1:25 p.m.
Naugatuck High School has been cleared and it has been determined that the smell of gas resulted from a fork lift with a propane leak on the property as part of the renovation construction at the school.
All students have been released for the day and buses have started clearing students
from the school.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., the school reported that it was experiencing a smell of natural gas in the building.

All students were directed out of the building to a safe location on school property while the odor was checked by the Naugatuck Fire Department and the utilities.
