Naugatuck High School is WTNH Game of the Week

Naugatuck, CT - Many Naugatuck High School students, parents and staff got up very early to appear on Channel 8 on Friday morning.

Athletic Director Brian Mariano sent out a message on Thursday afternoon that the school had been selected to appear during the 6am news broadcast. News Channel 8 was on the football field at Naugatuck High School as part of the game of the week production. "We are looking for as many people as possible to come out to the football field tomorrow morning at 5:45 am to show their town and school spirit as we will be featured on the morning edition of channel 8 news. Thank you and I hope to see you tomorrow morning," Mr. Mariano wrote is his email.

And come out they did. Broadcaster Ryan Christopher noted several times that it was the best turnout he had seen for the early morning promotion. Superintendent Sharon Locke was there to welcome parents and teachers from many Naugatuck schools to the field. Mayor "Pete" Hess also appeared on camera.

On Friday evening the NHS football game will be featured on News Channel 8 as the game of the week.
