NAUGATUCK, CT β€” It's going to cost up to $4.5 million to replace the roof at Naugatuck High School, which was damaged by failing solar panels, the Republican-American reports.

The roof was only nine years old. The up to $4.5 million figure will be bonded. The roof replacement will occur this summer and needs to be done before students return to school in late August.

Local officials are hopeful of securing up to $2 million from the state for the project but that is far from a guarantee, the Rep-Am reports.
