Naugatuck Man Admits to $120k Fraud Scheme

He worked for an insurance company and had a woman withdraw money from her annuity to pay him for trumped-up fees.

Naugatuck man Christopher Scull, 36, pleaded guilty to two counts of mail fraud after he scammed people out of $120,000.

Scull worked as an insurance agent with Bankers Life & Casualty Company between June 2011 and January 2014, according to the U.S. Attorney District of Connecticut office.

Scull induced one victim to make withdrawals from her annuity and give the money to Scull. He falsely represented that she owed certain fees. She withdrew the money and wrote Scull a personal check, who used the money for his own benefit.
