Naugatuck Man Charged With Assault: Police

NAUGATUCK, CT — A Naugatuck man, Jeffrey Montini, 42, of Ridge Road is charged with third-degree assault, violation of a protective order and disorderly conduct after police responded to a domestic dispute on April 25, police said.

"It was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused struck the victim in the face causing a small injury," Naugatuck police said in a report. "The accused was also intoxicated at the time of the incident."

The accused was in violation of a protective order by being at the residence of the victim, police said. He was released on a $5,000 bond.
