Naugatuck Man Charged With Assault on a Police Officer

Naugatuck police say the incident occurred early Wednesday on Lantern Park Drive.

A Naugatuck police officer was injured after a suspect in a domestic violence incident caused a laceration to the officer’s arm, police said.

Naugatuck police responded to a Lantern Park Drive residence at 2:55 a.m. Wednesday for a domestic disturbance call between a husband and a wife.

During an argument Nasir Gibson, 24, of Lantern Park Drive, allegedly damaged a door in the house, police said.

When the accused was placed under arrest he began to resist, and one of the officer’s received a laceration to the arm, police said.

Gibson is charged with disorderly conduct, interfering with an officer, assault on a public safety officer, and threatening. He was held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
