Naugatuck Man Charged With Threatening: Police

The accused was initially held in lieu of bond, police say.

NAUGATUCK, CT β€” A Naugatuck man is accused of threatening to cause harm to victims, police said. On Feb. 23 at 10:53 p.m. officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute, police said.

It was discovered through the investigation that John Mark Mortensen, 50, of May Avenue was intoxicated, police said. The accused became involved in an argument with the victims, police said.

The incident escalated when Mortensen "made multiple threats to cause harm to them and caused damage to their property," police said.

He was arrested and held on a $5,000 bond. He is charged with disorderly conduct, second-degree threatening and third-degree criminal mischief.
