Naugatuck Man Damages Victim's Property: Police

He was held initially in lieu of a $5,000 bond, police say.

NAUGATUCK, CT β€” A Naugatuck man, Benjamin Cruz, 41, of Scott Street, is accused of interfering with a 911 call and damaging the victim's personal items, police said. He was held initially in lieu of a $5,000 bond.

At 5:38 p.m. on Oct. 29, police responded to a domestic disturbance at an undisclosed residence. During an argument the accused had a verbal argument with the victim that turned physical, police said. During the argument the victim tried to call 911 and the accused interfered with the call, police said.

Cruz also caused damage to the victim's personal items, police said. Cruz is charged with second-degree criminal damage of property, disorderly conduct and interfering with an emergency call.
