Naugatuck Man Murdered In New Haven
A Naugatuck man was shot and killed in New Haven Saturday, according to police.
NAUGATUCK, CT β Police are continuing the investigation of a homicide over the weekend on Elliot Street between Sylvan Avenue and Davenport Avenue in the Hill neighborhood. The victim was 27-year-old Luis Nelson Perez of Naugatuck.
Police responded Saturday at 2:55 a.m. when a ShotSpotter alert and multiple 911 calls of gunfire and a gunshot victim. Emergency responders found a gunshot victim, later identified as Perez, lying in the street, according to a police statement.
An ambulance transported the victim to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Investigators canvassed the neighborhood and crime scene detectives remained in the area during the day.
