Naugatuck Man Possessed Narcotics Inside Car: Milford Police

The Naugatuck resident was held in lieu of a $20,000 bond, police said.

MILFORD, CT β€” A Monroe woman and a Naugatuck man are accused of possessing heroin and crack cocaine inside of a vehicle that was stopped in Milford, police said.

On March 30, the Police Department's TAC Unit was conducting anti-crime patrol in the area of Boston Post Road and Red Bush Lane. Police said after officers saw 'suspicious activity' they stopped a vehicle.

The driver, Toni Bartomeli, 23, of Webb Circle in Monroe, was found to be in possession of an amount of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia, police said. A subsequent probable cause search of the vehicle and the passenger, Taron Stokes, 39, of Rubber Avenue in Naugatuck, resulted in the seizure of heroin and crack cocaine pre-packaged for sale, police said.

Stokes is charged with possession of narcotics and possession with intent to sell. Bartomeli is charged with possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. Stokes was held on a $20,000 bond and Bartomeli was released on a promise to appear in court.
