Naugatuck Man Ran From Cops, Hid Drugs in a Business: Police
Police say the incident began as a routine motor vehicle stop and quickly escalated.

Naugatuck police describe an incident, which could have been ripped from any television or movie plot line.
Police say at 12:34 p.m. on Saturday an officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on North Main Street.
After the officer stopped Agostinho Gomes, 46, of City Hill Street, he got off of his motorcycle and ran into a nearby business, police said.

During the investigation, it was determined the accused allegedly attempted to hide narcotics in the business, police said.
Gomes was released after posting a $5,000 bond and is charged with possession of a controlled substance and interfering with an officer.Â
