Naugatuck Patch Reader Recognizes Bomb Bay Cafe Owner
Jackie Wahl reached out to laud the Memorial Day recognition held at the Naugatuck business.

Thank you to Jackie Wahl for her letter to Naugatuck Patch.
I sincerely believe that the recognition of a person who is going above and beyond during these pandemic times to honor those who have died for our country in honor of Memorial Day.
Town Business The Bomb Bay Café, owner Edward Hughes, has dipped into his own pockets to purchase flags that he is generously providing FREE to the town of Naugatuck! Each of the 160 flags is labeled with the name of a fallen Naugatuck resident who gave their life in war from the Revolutionary War to current day.

He on his own contacted the American Legion to obtain the list of names, then hand typed and printed each label. His café is WWII themed, and all year dedicated to service men and women from all over. But this is specifically for his home town of Naugatuck!
It deserves a pat on the back, a public thank you, appreciation beyond for his love, thoughtfulness and dedication to making sure those men and women are NOT forgotten among this pandemic!

Today was amazing. Thank you all for coming out to celebrate, honor and remember all of Naugatuck’s fallen heroes.
The amount of people that came down to get flags and took the time to research each Name.
We had 152 flags this morning and only have 32 left for people to pick tomorrow. We will be open tomorrow on Memorial Day for breakfast.
We will also be broadcasting via Facebook live the Memorial Day ceremonies with the drone from each monument, river wreath drop and cemeteries.
The flags will be left out tonight while we are closed, so feel free to stop by and grab one while we are not open.
Thank you again for the support , have a happy Memorial Day and God bless America and all that have died fight for it.
