Naugatuck PD Releases More Details On Shooting

No one was injured in the shooting and police continue to investigate whether it was related to another incident in town.

NAUGATUCK, CT β€” Detectives continue to investigate a shooting that occurred on Oak Street New Year's Day and whether it was connected to another incident in town. The shooter may have been in a silver or gray sedan, possibly a 2011-2014 Hyundai Sonata with a license plate that starts with the letter "A."

Detectives ask anyone with home or business video surveillance from Oak and High streets areas between 3:30 and 4 p.m. to share it with them.

The occupant of a vehicle fired at the occupant of a white pickup truck, police said. There were no injuries.

Around the same time Naugatuck police were helping Bridgeport and Ansonia police in the area of Cross Street and New Haven Road. A vehicle wanted in connection with incidents in Ansonia and Bridgeport was found at Cross Point Plaza, police said.

One vehicle occupant was taken into custody at G's Burger and turned over to Bridgeport police. Other suspects may have fled on foot, but weren't captured.
