Suspect Sought In Naugatuck Armed Facebook Marketplace Robbery
The suspect and the victim met earlier this month to complete a Facebook Marketplace transaction.
NAUGATUCK, CT — Naugatuck police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect from an armed robbery that took place in a Walmart parking lot earlier this month.
The suspect, who was driving a "lowered," white BMW sedan with tinted windows, met the victim in the parking lot on Oct. 10 to complete a Facebook Marketplace transaction when the robbery occurred, according to authorities.
"The driver of this car is believed to be a younger Hispanic male," Naugatuck police wrote in a post on Facebook (see below).

Anyone with information on the suspect, the vehicle or the incident is urged to contact the Naugatuck Police Department at 203-729-5222. Confidential tips also can be left at 203-720-1010.
"Please remember to always remain vigilant when purchasing items through any form of social media site or online app," Naugatuck police said. "Take steps to meet in a well lit, public area during daytime hours, preferably one with surveillance systems. We encourage the community to use our department parking lot for such exchanges to ensure the safety of all involved."
