Naugatuck Police Blotter: Nov. 7-8

The following information was provided by the public information officer at the Naugatuck Police Department. They are allegations until proven otherwise in a court of law.

ASSAULT
A Naugatuck juvenile was charged with third-degree assault and a breach of peace after police said he slapped another juvenile in the face, causing a bruise, on May 23. The juvenile was taken into custody and released to his mother on Nov. 7. He is due to appear in Waterbury Juvenile Court on Nov. 16.

LARCENY
Kenneth Maynard, 30, 333 Homestead Ave., Hartford, was charged with sixth-degree larceny after police said he stole $224.88 in Enfamil formula from the Big Y on Bridge Street on May 23. Maynard was held on a $500 surety bond and was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Nov. 8.

FAILURE TO APPEAR
Amer Yousef, 32, 505 Spring St., Naugatuck, was charged with second-degree failure to appear on Nov. 7 after he turned himself in to police on an active arrest warrant. Yousef was held on a $45,000 surety bond and was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Nov. 8.
