Naugatuck Police: Children Left Inside Car that was Being Towed
Police said the tow truck driver and the responsible party for the children said there was no room in the cab area for the kids.
On Saturday at 12:45 p.m. Naugatuck police responded to South Main Street for a report of children inside a vehicle, which was on the flatbed portion of a tow truck.
Myma Oquendo, 58, of Tyler Street in Springfield, Mass. was responsible for the children, police said.
Benny Rodriguez, 45, of Pemberwick Road in Greenwich, was the tow driver, who was towing the vehicle from Stamford, police said.

Due to the lack of room in the cab area, Oquendo and Rodriguez allowed the children to remain in the vehicle that was on the flatbed, police said.
They are both due to appear in Superior Court, Waterbury, on May 6 and were released after posting $5,000.

They were both charged with risk of injury to a child and Oquendo was also charged with leaving a child under 12 unsupervised.
