In the beginning of June Naugatuck Police were made aware of increased dumping at our clothing donation bins around town. The donation bins are becoming the site of illegal dumping, trash, and blight. This photo is just 1 example of the current issues arising with various clothing donation bins across town.

Naugatuck Police is increasing area patrols, working with property owners, and the speaking with the community to identify individuals that illegally dump items in order to ensure proper enforcement action is taken. Illegal dumping, and littering is illegal under GCS 22a-250a and holds a fine of $219.

The community should be aware that these donation bins marked "clothes donation bins" are not appropriate locations to discard bulk items such as couches, unused toys, miscellaneous clothing items, and other items, which should discarded at the towns transfer station.
