Naugatuck Police Dept. K9 Demonstrations [PHOTOS]

K9 Judge and K9 Tommy showed off their skills at the Tuesday evening National Night Out at Linden Park.

Naugatuck - K9 Tommy and K9 Judge each presented two demonstrations of their training during the National Night Out sponsored by the Naugatuck Police Department.

K9 Tommy and his partner Officer Kosky (pictured above with the suspect wearing protective gear) demonstrated how he is trained to protect police officers.

K9 Judge and his partner Officer Pinho (pictured above) gave demonstrations on how the black lab is trained to find a wide variety of illegal and prescription drugs. The well-trained dog successfully located each sample, sitting to let his partner where he had sniffed it out. Because he is food trained, he is only rewarded with food when he is successful.
