Naugatuck Police Investigating Animal Cruelty Case [UPDATED]
UPDATE: The NPS has announced that the kitten is no longer at the ACO facility and has been placed with a local animal rescue.

Naugatuck, CT — The Naugatuck Police Department, working in partnership with the Animal Control Officers (ACO’s) are investigating an incident that occurred 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
The occupant of an unknown white vehicle left two kittens on Hunters Mountain Road. After the occupant of the vehicle abandoned the kittens, the vehicle ran over one of the two kittens killing it.

The Naugatuck Police Department, with our Animal Control Division share the public’s outrage over anyone who would allow this cruel incident to occur against an innocent animal. Police are asking for the public’s assistance with identifying the perpratror(s) by phoning the police department at 203-729-5221 or our Confidential Tip Line at 203-720-1 010.
It should be noted the surviving kitten was taken to the borough's animal control facility where it is being cared for by our dedicated ACO’s and is otherwise in good health. Both kittens could be described as 5-6 weeks old, brown, domestic shorthair tabbies, the surviving kitten is a male.
