Naugatuck Police Mourn Death of Retired K-9 'Pete'

It is with a very heavy heart that the Naugatuck PD paid a final salute to Retired NPD K9 “Pete” this afternoon. Pete served his entire career with NPD handler Det. Kevin Zanic and lived with him since retiring several years ago.

Due to illness, Pete was was euthanized this evening after receiving a final salute from his fellow NPD officers. On behalf of all of us at the NPD we offer our gratitude and appreciation for a job well done by “Pete” and offer our condolences to Detective Zanic for his loss.
