Naugatuck Police Personnel Set Up Fund for Burial Expenses UPDATED

The members of the NPD set up the "Go fund me" online fundraiser to help the family of 12 year old Jada Ivory.

The Go fund me page includes the following information and the photo above:

On Monday May 11, 2015, Jada Ivory lost her life while playing at Linden Park in Naugatuck. Jada was playing by the Naugatuck River and lost her balance and fell in. Naugatuck Police, Fire and many surrounding agencies responded to try to locate Jada. She was found approximately 90 minutes after going into the water. Despite CPR efforts Jada did not survive.

Jada was 12 years old.

This fund is being set up by Naugatuck Police Personel to help the family with burial expenses. Click here if you would like to help. Any questions contact Det. Sgt. Bart Deeley or Det. Paul Markette at 203-729-7106.

Sgt. Deeley and I want to thank everyone for the support we are receiving by the community. Based on the overwhelming support we have raised the goal to cover ALL expenses for the funeral arrangements. They are being made today, (05/13/2015). I will advise of the arrangements when I receive them.

Any additional monies collected will go to a scholarship of some sort for students.

The total raised in one day is currently $8,685 raised by 265 donors and the goal has been raised to $12,000.Β
