Naugatuck Police Swear-in Deputy Chief

The Deputy Chief oversees the department's detective division and administrative division and serves as the department's second in command.

NAUGATUCK - On May 17, 2022, Daniel Norck was sworn-in as Deputy Chief of Police for the Naugatuck Police Department in front of department colleagues, law enforcement officers from the region, friends, family and community members.

The Deputy Chief oversees the department’s detective division and administrative division and serves as the department’s second in command.

Deputy Chief Daniel Norck began his law enforcement career in 2001 for Town of Southbury Police Department when he entered the 288th training class at the Connecticut Police Academy. D/C Norck transferred to the Naugatuck Police Department in 2008 and has held the positions of Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Lieutenant, Detective Lieutenant and most recently Captain where he oversaw all patrol operations.

Over his 20-year career, D/C Norck has been a certified Instructor for several disciplines including Fair & Impartial Policing and De-escalation as well as a School Resource Officer, member of the Naugatuck Valley Collision Investigation Team, DARE officer, Field Training Officer and Coordinator, and Accreditation Manager.

D/C Norck holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in Administration of Justice from Salve Regina University and is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command. In his spare time, he and his wife Sarah raise their two daughter and is an avid doorsman that stems as far back as him obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout in his youth.

D/C Norck is the latest promotion as the department continues to build its leadership team which shares this department’s focus on community engagement, adhering to best practices, and ensuring the Naugatuck Police Department continues to model itself as a progressive law enforcement agency.
