Naugatuck, CT - The Naugatuck Public Schools will be using increased state funding through the Alliance Grant to pay a new English language learner teacher, an assistant principal for Maple Hill Elementary School, and an administrative intern at Hop Brook Elementary School.

With 57 more ELL students this year than last year, the school district can really use the new English Language Learner position.

Maple Hill School is by far the biggest elementary school, with over 500 students and just one administrator. The new assistant principal will help support and evaluate teachers so they can more effectively educate our students. The new assistant principal will help ensure the safety of students during arrival, dismissal, and lunch, strengthen relationships with families, and administer our positive behavior support program.
