Naugatuck Resident Charged with Assault: Police
Police say the incident occurred earlier this week and a child was present during the assault.

NAUGATUCK, CT — A Naugatuck resident was injured during an assault and police say a child was present during the incident.
Police said at 10 p.m. on Feb. 7 officers responded to a Tolles Square residence for a domestic incident between a man and a woman. During the incident both parties got into a verbal argument that turned physical, police said.
The victim told police that Carmen Rivera, 37, of Tolles Square, grabbed him by the neck and pushed and shoved him several times, police said. Officers also determined that the incident occurred with a small child present, police said.

Rivera is charged with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and risk of injury to a child. He was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.
