Naugatuck Residents Urged To Review Their Home Emergency Plans
Naugatuck fire officials said now is a good time for residents to review their home emergency plans as the 2024 hurricane season begins.
NAUGATUCK, CT — Fire officials urge Naugatuck residents to review their home emergency plans as the 2024 hurricane season begins.
In a Facebook post Friday, fire officials acknowledged that while it is impossible to predict if Connecticut will get hit by a hurricane or tropical storm this year, it is still a good idea for residents to prepare for storm-related power failures to the best of their abilities.
"If you have or are considering a portable generator, please have it installed correctly," fire officials said on Facebook. "Using a cord to back feed into your house electrical system is dangerous and a fire hazard."
