Naugatuck School Calendar Update
Please be advised that adjustments to the calendar may be subject to revision depending on any further response to the changing conditions.

Naugatuck, CT - There have been many questions related to impact of the Coronavirus Closure on the 2019-2020 School Calendar. Please be advised that adjustments to the calendar may be subject to revision depending on any further response to the changing conditions associated with the pandemic.
Below are responses to some of the most frequently asked questions:
What about the Governor's waiver of the 180 school day requirement?
We have until June 30th to have 180 school days. With these 11 “closure days” our new last day of school is now JUNE 26th. If we need to extend the shutdown or cancel more days, we will adjust. We cannot have school past June 30th so if we do not have 180 days by then, the state will waive the requirement.

What about April Vacation?
April vacation has not been impacted at this time. Again, we may need to adjust our calendar if we need to extend the closure.
How are Report Cards and Parent Conferences Impacted by the Coronavirus Closure?
March parent conferences are cancelled. Report cards will be distributed after we return to school.
We will hold parent conferences for PK-8 students in June in conjunction with the final report card. The schedule for conferences will be communicated closer to the June dates.

How will the Closure Impact High School Graduation?
The Board of Education set a fixed date for high school graduation of June 11, 2020. The closure will not impact that date.
Graduates will not have to return to school after graduation.
What about Online Learning?
Students are encouraged to extend their learning during this closure and always. We have created an Extended Learning Website with suggested activities aligned with our curriculum competencies and Vision of the Graduate.
Where Should I Direct Further Questions?
Please direct questions to your school principal and secretary. We will monitor questions and send district communications as needed.
