Naugatuck Seeks Developer For 7.75 Acre Borough-Owned Property
The vacant parcel is located on the corner of Maple Street and Old Firehouse Road.

NAUGATUCK, CT — Naugatuck issued a Request for Proposal this month for a developer of a 7.75 acre property the borough owns on the corner of Maple Street and Old Firehouse Road.
Referred to as "Parcel B," the vacant property is part of the borough's Transit Oriented Development Project in the downtown revitalization zone. The deadline to submit a proposal is April 29.
The borough is looking to sell the parcel to a developer that will build a mixed-use transit oriented project that will tie in a future greenway along the east side of the Naugatuck River, reported My Citizen News.

According to Mayor Pete Hess, the project is part of "an overall effort to bring vibrancy to the downtown area," which will be done in phases.
The project will also tie in the adjacent Waterbury rail line, which is slated to be expanded in the coming years.
