Naugatuck Shoe Repair Shop Closes After 41 Years: Report

NAUGATUCK, CT — Sam's Shoe Repair Shop in Naugatuck has closed after 41 years in business, Citizen's News reports. A celebration of owner Sam Pollastro's work will be held during an open house event Nov. 12 at the 66 Church restaurant in town.

Pollastro, 83, came to the U.S. in 1961 and worked a variety of jobs before opening his shoe repair business, according to Citizen's News. He worked two jobs for most of his life.
