Naugatuck Soccer League Scrambling to Replace Damaged Goals
All of the league's goals were vandalized sometime before Saturday.

Vandals in Naugatuck may very well have forced the postponement the start of soccer season.
According to a news item and video at foxct.com, Naugatuck Youth Soccer League Vice President Amy Keach said all 10 of the soccer goals were taken apart sometime before Saturday morning, and there are essential pieces missing, which means they cannot be readily reassembled.
Foxct.com said replacing the goals could cost more than $9.000.

The league is financially hard-pressed to pay for repairing the goals, according to WTNH.com.
The News 8 report said the league is an all-volunteer organization and relies on registration fees.

Opening day is less than a week away, and the league has been reaching out to other leagues to see if they can borrow goals until money can be found for new ones.
