NAUGATUCK, CT β€” Naugatuck and state police worked together to find a missing teen Tuesday following a crash near May Street and Osborn Road.

In a news release, Naugatuck police said officers received a report after the crash of a missing 17-year-old resident with possible injuries and a documented mental health history.

A silver alert was quickly issued to mobilize resources for a timely and effective search, according to police.

Police deployed drones to help in the search. The Connecticut State Police K9 Unit was also called in to help track the missing teen, according to police.

The teen was later found by a state police K9 and taken to a local hospital for medical care, according to police.

"The Naugatuck Police Department extends gratitude to our state partners for their quick response and effective collaboration," police said in a news release, "which played a pivotal role in the safe recovery of the missing [teen]."
