Naugatuck Valley Savings and Loan Appoints New Board Member

NAUGATUCK - Kevin Kennedy, CPA has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Naugatuck Valley Financial Corporation and Naugatuck Valley Savings and Loan. With regards to his election, Mr. Kennedy said, “I look forward to working with Naugatuck Valley’s Directors and employees to continue to expand Naugatuck Valley’s mission of being a community bank committed to the highest possible degree of customer satisfaction, shareholder value and community dedication.”

Mr. Kennedy was graduated from The University of Connecticut in 1991 as an Accounting Major with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. He began Kennedy Wealth and Tax Management in 1995, a firm specializing in tax and wealth management advisory services.  Mr. Kennedy and his firm were recently recognized by Connecticut Magazine as a FIVE STAR Wealth Manager. In addition to earning his Certified Public Accountant distinction, Mr. Kennedy also holds several securities and insurance licenses, including Series 6, 62, 63, and 65.

Prior to opening his own firm, Mr. Kennedy was a Senior Staff Accountant at T.M. Byxbee company, providing audit and tax services to various industries including banks, construction, manufacturing and pension plans.  He is active in the community and is a volunteer coach with the Northwestern Connecticut Youth Hockey and Shepaug Baseball Leagues.

Mr. Kennedy along with Chairman of the Board Carlos S. Batista and fellow Board Members John C. Roman, James A. Mengacci, Richard Famiglietti, Jane H. Walsh, Camilo P. Vieira, and Frederick A. Dlugokecki are responsible for governing the operations of Naugatuck Valley Financial Corporation and Naugatuck Valley Savings and Loan.

The Board members bring over 75 years of combined service to the Corporation and the Bank.
