Naugatuck Woman Encouraged Inappropriate Relationship Between Teens: Police

Naugatuck police say the teens ended up sending inappropriate photos to one another.

Naugatuck police say Melissa Stokes, 39, of Rubber Avenue, turned herself into police at 6:07 p.m. on Sept. 14 on an active arrest warrant.

Police say Stokes allegedly encouraged a relationship between two juveniles, which led to inappropriate touching and sharing of inappropriate photos between the teens.

Stokes is charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor and she was released after posting a $2,500 bond.

This news comes days after a Naugatuck middle school student was charged with possession of child pornography by a minor.

In that particular case, police say on Sept. 11, the female juvenile was arrested on a warrant for allegedly sending and receiving inappropriate pictures via a cell phone.

Fox CT reports that the teen sent a nude photo of herself to another teen, and that a parent saw the picture and contacted police.
