Naugatuck's New Tax Assessor is on the Job

Naugatuck’s new Assessor Carol Ann Tyler is now on the job and officials have praised her experience and what she’ll bring to the job.

Tyler comes aboard after past concerns were raised about the office, and questions over the accuracy of the grand list, reports the Republican-American.

Tyler will be paid $30,000 more than the prior full-time assessor and earn an annual salary of $87,000.

She worked as an assessor in East Hampton and she received a three-year contract.

The borough will secure new software to ensure everyone is taxed fairly and guard against errors.
