The Naugatuck High School girls' team finished tied for third and the boys' team finished in fifth place Tuesday at the Naugatuck Valley League track and field championships at Woodland High School in Beacon Falls.
The boys' 4x400 team won first place, while the girls team was led by Briana Ritter, who won the discuss with a throw of 101-feet, nine-inches and finished third in the shot put at 30-feet, one-inch. The girls went one, two in the discuss as Felicia Gullotta finished second at 90-feet, 10-inches.
Christina Batista finished second in the javelin with a throw of 113-feet, eight-inches, while Harmony Studivant finished third in the long jump at 15-feet, nine-inches.
