New Assistant Principal Named At Naugatuck Elementary School
A graduate of Naugatuck Public Schools was recently named the new assistant principal at a local elementary school.
NAUGATUCK, CT — Naugatuck Public Schools announced Tuesday that Shelby Hale Roper has been named the new assistant principal of Maple Hill Elementary School.
In a Facebook post, the district said Hale Roper's appointment is a true homecoming.
"As a proud graduate of Naugatuck Public Schools, she actually completed her student teaching and administrative internship right here in our district, and later inspired students as a science teacher and instructional coach at City Hill Middle School," the district's post reads.

According to the district, Hale Roper previously served as assistant principal of Waltham High School in Massachusetts, where she led instructional growth, student support and family engagement.
She also guided PreK-5 educators as a science instructional coach at Mitchell Elementary School in Woodbury, shaping curriculum and supporting hands-on learning, according to the district.

She earned her doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Bridgeport.
"Dr. Hale Roper's leadership centers on building strong relationships, fostering instructional excellence and supporting the whole child," the district's post reads. "Please join us in giving Dr. Hale Roper a warm welcome back to the NPS family!"
