New Computer Program Debuts at September Board of Education Meeting
BOE members added some new technology to their monthly meeting on Thursday, Sept. 8.
The Naugatuck Board of Education held their regular monthly meeting in the new conference room in their section of Naugatuck High School, but there was definitely something new.
The usual meeting agenda had a very different look because Assistant Superintendent Christopher Montini had printed it out from a computer program purchased by the Board called BoardDocs. Each board member had a Chromebook in front of them to access the program during the meeting and Technology guru Alan Merly was on hand to help them sign in. On two screens in the meeting room was a projection of the program, so that the public could follow along as the board moved through the items on the agenda. Documents referenced throughout the meeting were available as attachments.
One benefit of the program is that the public can access a lot of information via the link on the naugy.net website. The meeting agenda can be viewed and printed, and the same attachments that were discussed during the meeting are attached as pdfs. One such document from CABE congratulated Mrs. Dorothy Neth-Kunin on completing the 20 required credits in a variety of areas and being named a Certified Board of Education Member Award.

More information will be added to the BoardDocs site in the future.
At the beginning of the meeting, Superintendent Sharon Locke recognized Cathy Bosco and Erica Pucci for spearheading another successful Technology Summit attended by 125 staff members before the beginning of the school year.
