New Coordinator Of Pupil Services Announced For Naugatuck Schools

She previously served as a program coordinator for special education in Madison, according to the district.

NAUGATUCK, CT — Naugatuck Public Schools has announced Catherine Burland will serve as the district's new coordinator of pupil services.

In a recent Facebook post, district officials noted Burland comes to Naugatuck from Daniel Hand High School in Madison, where she served as the school's program coordinator for special education.

She also supervised and trained special education teachers and helped develop individualized education plans in Madison.

Additionally, Burland works as an adjunct professor at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield.

"I believe that all students can and will learn," Burland said in a statement posted to Facebook, "and as the coordinator of pupil services, I will continue to work to create a culture where all staff work together with families to ensure that students receive the most effective academic and social instruction and acquire a love of learning."
