New Details Emerge in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Route 8 in Naugatuck
The accident shut down the highway for several hours Thursday night.

NAUGATUCK, CT — State Police Troop I in Bethany has released new details involving a gruesome pedestrian accident on Route 8 in Naugatuck Thursday night that shut down the highway for several hours.
Two other pedestrians were killed on highways in Connecticut including in Danbury and Groton.
State Police said at 5:33 p.m. Troop I responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 8 southbound near Exit 27 in Naugatuck.

When State Police arrived they found a pedestrian to have been struck by a vehicle traveling on the northbound side of Route 8. After the initial impacts, the pedestrian was struck by an additional vehicle traveling on the southbound side of Route 8, State Police said.
The pedestrian was announced dead at the scene. No one else was injured. State Police have not yet identified the victim's name.
