New Livestock Regulations In Naugatuck Take Effect This Month

NAUGATUCK, CT — Naugatuck's new livestock and poultry regulations take effect this month, and they include rules on the number of some animals at a residential property, and the minimum size of that property for livestock.

Under the new regulations, residents cannot keep livestock or poultry on a property that is less than three-quarters of an acre, and the number of livestock allowed on a parcel is limited by the size of the property.

Essentially, the more land, the more livestock that can be kept on the property, wrote My Citizen's News.

Additionally, up to three horses or ponies can be kept on a property of less than 5 acres, but there must be at least 40,000 square feet of space for each animal.
