New Principal Appointed For Naugatuck Elementary School

The Naugatuck Board of Education has unanimously appointed a new principal for one of the district's elementary schools.

NAUGATUCK, CT — This week, the Board of Education unanimously appointed a new principal for Maple Hill Elementary School, according to Naugatuck Public Schools.

In a Facebook post Thursday night, district officials said Mallory Brito has been appointed as the school's next principal.

According to the district, Brito brings 17 years of experience in public education to the position, including five years serving as an administrator and instructional leader in Waterbury Public Schools, as well as prior service in New Haven.

Throughout her career, Brito has demonstrated a strong commitment to student achievement, inclusive school culture and collaborative leadership, according to the district.

Brito is widely recognized as a present, reflective and service-driven leader who believes deeply that schools thrive when relationships, clarity and communication are at the center of the work, according to the district.

Her leadership experience includes strengthening school climate and culture, expanding shared leadership structures, improving literacy outcomes, increasing family engagement and building strong intervention and student support systems, district officials said.

Her work has also included rebuilding and supporting complex special education program structures and leading student intervention teams, according to the district.

"Join us in congratulating and welcoming Mrs. Brito to our Naugatuck Public School family," district officials wrote on Facebook.
