New Principal Named for Maple Hill Elementary School

Naugatuck - The Naugatuck Public School system has announced announce that Lisa Romano will be joining them as principal of Maple Hill Elementary School next year.
Ms. Romano comes to the borough from Waterbury, where she worked as the Academic Academy Supervisor for an accelerated school. She was a 2020 Connecticut Teacher of the Year semifinalist.
The NPS team is incredibly excited to welcome Ms. Romano as the next principal of Maple Hill School. Ms. Romano’s student centered approach and passion for building cultures of positivity and growth will serve the Maple Hill Community well.

Ms. Romano is currently working toward her Doctor of Education degree from the University of Bridgeport, which she expects to complete in December.
Long-time principal Cheryl A. Kane celebrated her last day as principal of Maple Hill with faculty and staff members at a recent gathering at the Watertown Golf Club.

Educator Lauren (Marques) St. Germain posted her welcome message to the new principal of the school she attended as a young student. "Lisa is wonderful and I’m confident she will do an amazing job!! Welcome to the borough, Waterbury will miss you!"
