New Restaurant Planned for Former Naugatuck Train Station Site

The restaurant wold be located on Water Street.

Umberto Morale, of Trumbull, has plans to develop an upscale restaurant at the former train station site on Water Street, reports Paul Singley of the Republican-American. Morale will pay $400,000 for the building and spend $600,000 for upgrades, Singley reports. The Naugatuck Economic Development Corp. gave the proposal positive reviews.

Before its a done deal it still needs approval from the borough’s land-use boards. The town is also looking to ensure that the building will never fall into the wrong hands as part of a lease agreement with Morale, the Rep-Am reports.

Morale also owned a restaurant in Monroe called Tula Restaurant & Lounge in Monroe. He has since sold his share in the restaurant.
