NHS's Poetry Out Loud: National Recitation Contest
The Naugatuck HS students each picked a poem that spoke to them to memorize and recite.

Naugatuck, CT - Laraine Weschler has announced the winners of the Poetry Out Loud: National Recitation Contest held at Naugatuck High School.
Congratulations to all of the winners of Naugatuck High School's Poetry Out Loud: National Recitation Contest.
First place went to Ayana Williams performing "Mainsplaining" by Jennifer Militello, while second place was awarded to Jayden Strickland performing "Tomorrow" by Dennis O'Driscoll.
Jaida Taveras performing "Bent to the Earth" by Blas Manuel de Luna took third place in the competition.

The students each picked a poem that spoke to them to memorize and recite. Ms. Williams will go on to the state competition in March. All the participants did an amazing job and the judges had a tough time choosing the winners.
