NPD Releases Info Regarding Two Incidents This Evening

The Naugatuck Police Department is asking for the public's assistance with anyone who may have witnessed these incidents.

NAUGTATUCK, CT - On 1/1/21 at shortly after 3:00 pm Naugatuck Police responded to the area to the area of Cross Street and New Haven Road (Rt. 63) to assist Ansonia and Bridgeport Police after a vehicle wanted in connection with incidents within their jurisdiction was recovered at the Cross Point Plaza.

Police, including canine teams from the Connecticut State Police began searching and canvassing the area for the vehicle’s occupants. One of the vehicle’s occupants was taken into custody at G’s Burger on New Haven Road. The suspect and the vehicle were turned over to the custody of Bridgeport Police. Police believe other suspects may have fled on foot and be at large. The media is asked to refer all questions regarding this incident to Bridgeport and Ansonia Police.


While all this was occurring, Naugatuck Police were called to the area of High Street at S. Main Street to investigate an incident in which the occupant of gray sedan fired shots at the occupant of a white pickup truck. Police believe the shooting occurred on Oak Street. There were no injuries from this shooting and the investigation is ongoing with detectives processing evidence and the scene. The shooter was described as a Hispanic male.

The Naugatuck Police Department is asking for the public's assistance with anyone who may have
witnessed these incidents. Specifically, anyone in the 0-100 block of Oak St. and the 0-400 block of High St. with surveillance footage or household cameras from the time of 3:30pm to 4:00 pm.
