Numerous Dead Fish Discovered In Naugatuck, Fire Officials Say

NAUGATUCK, CT — The Naugatuck Fire Department responded to Baummer's Pond on Mill Street Friday afternoon for a report of numerous dead fish.

Numerous dead fish were found along the edge of the pond, with no visible oil spill or other substance present, fire officials said.

Geese and ducks in the pond did not appear to be affected. CT DEEP hazardous materials division was notified and responded. Contact was made with the fisheries division of DEEP, they will be sending a biologist to the pond for further investigation.

No other details have been released.
