NVCC Manufacturing Student Honored
The NVCC Manufacturing Student was honored by the Smaller Manufacturers Association of CT on May 9.

Naugatuck Valley Community College (NVCC) student Keven Rodriguez was honored by the Smaller Manufacturers Association (SMA) of Connecticut as the NVCC Student of the Year at the SMA’s annual meeting on Monday, May 9.
Keven received the highest grade in Manufacturing Math among all AMTC cohorts, was recognized as a top 10 student, and is now a member of the National Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa. Keven also works as a math tutor and teaching assistant supporting students in our evening AMTC Program.
Luiz Santos, Keven's Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center (AMTC) instructor, had the distinct honor of presenting the award and said, "I have known Keven since Fall 2021 when he signed up for the AMTC Program. During this time Keven has proven to be a dedicated student with a great work ethic and has served as a role model to other AMTC students. Keven's academics and hands-on machining performance on both CNC and manual equipment are always at the highest level." Luiz went on to say, "I strongly believe that Keven would be a great addition to any company."
