Obitiuary: Elaine T. Botelle, 91, of Bethlehem

She was a graduate of Naugatuck High School, class of 1948 and retired from Meyers Supply Company in Naugatuck.

BETHLEHEM- Elaine T. Botelle, age 91, a 64-year resident of Bethlehem passed away peacefully August 22 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of John D. Botelle, Sr.
Elaine was born in Springdale, CT on December 3, 1929, the daughter of the late Austin F. and Grace (Fleming) Tierney. She was a graduate of Naugatuck High School, class of 1948.
Elaine's early career was as a telephone operator with Southern New England Telephone Company. After raising her family, she returned to work employed by various temporary services and retired from Meyers Supply Company in Naugatuck.
Elaine was a communicant of the Church of the Nativity (Prince of Peace) in Bethlehem. She was active in the Bethlehem community for many years. She was active in the elementary school PTO, Brownies, a Girl Scout Leader and coordinated numerous Boy Scout award banquets over the years. She was active in the Bethlehem Fair, serving for many years as an Honorary Director. Elaine also served on the Board of Directors of Bethlehem Homes/North Purchase in Bethlehem and volunteered at Waterbury Hospital. She also maintained contact with her high school classmates and attended all of her class reunions.
In addition to her husband and parents, Elaine was predeceased by her 3 brothers, Austin L., John R., and James E. Tierney. She is survived by her children, John D. Botelle, Jr. of Bethlehem, Robert W. Botelle and his husband Mario of Andover, MA, and Patricia A. Botelle of Bethlehem. She is also survived by several nephews, cousins, and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 a.m. leaving from Hickcox Funeral Home 195 Main St. Watertown to Church of the Nativity for a Mass at 11a.m. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday 4-7p.m.
