Obituary: Abigail "Abby" W. Dombrowski, 23, of Barkhamstead

BARKHAMSTED –

Abigail "Abby" W. Dombrowski, 23, passed away unexpectedly after a short illness on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. Born November 27, 1999 in Torrington; she was the loving daughter of Jeffrey and Paula (LaBonte) Dombrowski of Barkhamsted.

Abby graduated from Northwest Regional #7, Class of 2017 and graduated from Mount Holyoke College receiving a B.A. in Fine Arts, Class of 2022. She was also devoted member of their Mount Holyoke Dressage Team as well as Barn Manager for a year.

Abby loved riding horses and had a natural way with horses and all small animals alike. She was a strong willed, independent thinking individual that always stood up for what she believed. To know Abby was to know color and humor and sound! Abby saved her "inside voice" for those frightened and healing. The rest of her was as loud and as bold and colorful as her hair. She is already greatly missed beyond measure.

In addition to her devoted parents, she leaves her brother, Jeffrey Dombrowski, Jr., of Barkhamsted; maternal grandmother, Dianne LaBonte of Thomaston; paternal grandfather, J. "Al" Alfred Dombrowski of Winsted; uncles, Donald A. "DJ" LaBonte (Ashley) of Litchfield, Joe Dombrowski (Anna) of New Hartford and Jerry Dombrowski (Cathy) of Watertown; close aunt, Andrea Dombrowski of Winsted; many small support hamsters, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by maternal grandfather, Donald A. LaBonte, paternal grandmother, Marjorie Dombrowski; uncles, Jim and John Dombrowski and cousin, Peter Dombrowski.

Friends may call on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted from 1 – 5 PM. Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 31, 2023 at St. Joseph Cemetery, Winsted at 11 AM.
