Fred was a self-employed machinist, a skilled woodworker, guitar maker, and was the " Go To Guy" for family, neighbors and friends.

Alfred “Fred” L. Dube, 81, of Prospect passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Masonicare. He was the devoted husband of Diane (Ritter) Dube for over 60 years. He was born October 4, 1939 in Waterbury, son of the late Alfred T. and Hetty (Reed) Dube


Fred was a self-employed machinist, a skilled woodworker, guitar maker, and was the “ Go To Guy” for family, neighbors and friends. He was a “worker”, from early morning till night. He loved his family and treasured time making music with them. He always had music in his life, would share his talents of song and guitar with residents of nursing homes. Fred loved traveling every year to Bar Harbor with his wife, greeting everyone he met. Fred made friends wherever he went. He will be greatly missed by his cherished family and friends.

Besides his wife, Diane, Fred leaves to cherish his life and legacy his daughters Wendy(Steve) Cisowski of NC, and Christine (Mike) Lorusso of Wolcott, and son Alfred “Fred”(Julianna) Dube, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren, his sister Barbara Reef of Westport, two nieces, a nephew, some cousins and many friends.


Fred was predeceased by his son Kenneth Dube.

Funeral Services are Monday November 16, 2020 at 11 am at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home 72 Waterbury Rd, Prospect. Burial will immediately follow in Prospect Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 9 am until the time of the service. All Covid precautions will be adhered to, please wear your mask at all times.
