Amanda Rose DeSalle Van Fleet

Amanda (DeSalle) Van Fleet, age 33, of Prospect, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was the devoted wife of Christopher Van Fleet. Amanda was born on March 16, 1990 in Milford, daughter of Robert DeSalle Jr. and Donna (Fernino) DeSalle.


Amanda graduated from Sheehan High School in Wallingford, Class of 2008. She earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master’s degree in Education from SCSU, Amanda cherished being with her family more than anything. She enjoyed nature, fishing trips, gardening, cooking and snuggling with her cats. In June 2023, Amanda and Chris welcomed the birth of their son, Logan Christopher.

Amanda is survived by her loving siblings, Andrew J. DeSalle and Ashley M. DeSalle of Wallingford; her aunts and uncles, RoseMarie and Louis DeLucia of Hamden, Lissa Sperandio of TN, Daniel and Annetta DeSalle of Bloomfield, and Thomas Fernino of Milford; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rich and Patty Van Fleet of Cheshire; and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rich and Kelly Van Fleet of Prospect, Elizabeth and Nick Hartsell of Simsbury, and Kevin and Emily Van Fleet of Plainville and her cherished nieces and nephews, Brianna, Cori, Kennedy, Jack, Grant and Theo.

Friends may greet Amanda’s family at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home, 615 So. Main Street, Cheshire, CT 06410 on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 4PM until 7PM. On Thursday, March 21, 2024 friends are invited to go directly to St. Bridget of Sweden Parish-St. Bridget Church, 175 Main Street, Cheshire for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10AM.
